I started travelling in 2002, working and backpacking my way through the USA and Europe. After working as an Analyst with the Department of Defence in Australia for four years and studying a Masters degree, a sharp career turn led me to the tourism industry. I began leading tours on the Trans-Mongolian and Trans-Siberian Railways and along the Silk Road, travelling extensively through Central Asia (the "Stans"), Russia, Mongolia and China. Since 2010, I have been in Africa travelling independently and working for various companies leading tours throughout Eastern and Southern Africa. I love to travel and am passionate about encouraging others to travel. To do that, I recently started my own tour company. Overland Travel Adventures provides private tailored safaris dedicated to the philosophies of responsible travel. We engage with communities through East Africa by visiting local NGOs and supporting their projects either with hands-on assistance or monetary donations. A holiday with OTA will give you the opportunity to interact with local people as well as visit the spectacular game parks East Africa is famous for.
