A native of Pennsylvania, but a Westerner at heart, I have been working as a major gifts fundraiser in the non-profit and NGO fields for the past 12 years. At the time of this writing I am about to embark on a 6-12 month sabbatical during which time I will be travelling throughout Central and South America, studying Spanish and volunteering as opportunities arise.
I have an academic background in philosophy and literature (with graduate degrees in both fields), although these days my intellectual interests lie largely in international development, human rights and social justice, and the spread of philanthropy as a relatively new and powerful force of change.
I have worked in development for The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington; the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, Colorado; Global Greengrants Fund; and Free the Slaves, one of the world's leading anti-slavery and human trafficking NGOs.
Please feel free to contact me if you would like to spark a conversation, meet up in the Andes for a climb, a trek, or a mountain run--or whatever!
Boulder, Colorado; the Alto-Adige of Northern Italy; the North Cascades and the Olympic Peninsula; around the campfire with tired legs, good friends, and cold beer.
