I would consider myself as an open-minded, down to earth adventurer.
I love nature, people, the outdoors and all related activities like mountain biking, orienteering, adventure racing, sailing, canoeing, ski mountaineering, open water swimming, triathlon and camping...
I love travelling, exploring new places and cultures...it's just such so enriching and puts our own lives into perspective.
Apart from the above, I also enjoy creating and making things and stuff like art, exhibitions, theater, museums, life music and markets. Anything that inspires me - I really enjoy a good mix in life!
I could totally participate in a triathlon event in the morning, see a contemporary art exhibition afterwards, enjoy late lunch and drinks with my precious friends and listen to a life concert (which could be rock, jazz or classical for that matter!) the very same night... Life is short, so I try to make the most of it…as they say: Ride it like you stole it!
It's not really objective to write about oneself, but I guess some of my traits might be: Energetic, caring, affectionate, sensitive, at times stubborn, a mix of German precision and African poise ;-)
I am open-minded, active, and spontaneous What I’m doing with my life I moved from South Africa to London two years ago to do a Masters in Fashion Artefacts at the London College of Fashion. I now joined up with another designer and together we design sculptural leather accessories which are made and hand stitched by ourselves.
Before coming to London I lived in Cape Town, South Africa for 14 years, working in product development as a Technical Designer for leather handbags. Yes, I am a straight handbag designer/maker, we do exist ;-) In 2006 I worked in New York for 9 months, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately that experience didn't last long and I was forced to go back to South Africa but that's another evening-filling story...
