I quit my job with Telecom Australia when I was 24 and bought a one way ticket to London. That was many years ago and I have been travelling off and on ever since. On that trip to Europe I stayed 3 years and stopped for 1/2 a year in India on the way back to Aus. I've been back, of course to both Europe and India, the last time in 2010, spending 2 months in Sikkim. Mountain people are so chilled and India is as crazy and amazing as ever. It is a tough place to travel but often rewarding. I have visited Vietnam 7 times since I took my young kids there during a 9 month sabatical of Asia, back in 94. In '98 I arrived in from the overland route through Thailand and Lao to arrive in HCM with $200 in my pocket and a determination to get work. I ended up teaching and stayed 6 months. I often head to SE Asia and in the last few years I have been living and work in Lao as the head English teacher of a school.
