I'm eighteen years old and am fresh from my first year of college. I have decided to take a gap year in my studies to travel abroad doing volunteer work in Europe (with the Workaway website- google it!), as I've been dreaming about doing for a long time now. I'm thinking about leaving January 2013, or when I've saved up enough money, whichever one comes first. The trip would probably be until December of 2013, so that I could be back with my family for the holidays. This is going to be a realllly cheap trip. Europe on a very skinny shoestring- as in hostels will be the most expensive place we stay. I don't have an itinerary laid out yet, just an idea of where I want to go- starting in Western Europe and working my way east, maybe dipping into Africa to go to Morocco or Egypt. I'm looking for a travel buddy of a similar age to have fun with and help save on costs. I'd greatly prefer a woman, but a really nice guy might also be fine. Either way, I'll want to meet up with you for coffee a couple times so that we can get to know each other and see if we'd work together well on the road. Everyone knows someone very nice who, for no fault of their own, just the fact that you have very different personalities, you don't like to spend more than a day with. And vice versa, I'm sure! it'd be a shame to get to Europe only to discover that my personal quirks drive you up the wall. :) About me: I like to see the humor in things. I like both party time and quiet time in pretty equal measure. I love to learn. I'm as drama free as they come and easygoing, so if you have a temper it won't be a good fit. I'm athletic and like the outdoors. I have a sweet tooth. I can be a bit shy. I am a huge Star Trek fan, and an admitted geek. And now I have wanderlust! Send me a message if you're interested and we'll talk from there.
