I first got the travel bug when i was finishing high school but didnt make my first trip until i graduated from university 4 years later. That's a long time to plan I can tell you! My first trip consisted of 9 months away which was my first time without my parents, and was highly terrifying at the time. My dad come to the airport with me and my boyfriend of the time and throughly gave him a protective warming that if i didnt come back alive then he would be having words! - (Daddy's lilttle girl was going into the big wide world and he wasn't going to be there to protect me if anything should go wrong...i'm not sure if this helped to settle our nerves or not, but thanks Dad for the huge hug that i carried around for those 9 months).
2004 - 9 months & 12 countries... India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, East coast Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, The Cook Islands, West Coast of USA, Canada and East Coast USA. However since then i've been to Greece, East Coast of Argentina, Brazil, Iceland, Japan, back to California for a road trip up the Big Sur, back down to Australia to relive the Great Ocean Road and back to Thailand for some spectular diving. It's not my usual idea to head back to places i've already seen, however along the way you always make loads of friends and i fancied a catch up with them and their new families.
Next year will bring many new challenges though, as i've teamed up with some new friends and we're heading off to Africa for an overland trip of a lifetime. London to South Africa! (via; France, Italy, Siciliy, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Ethophia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa) and i can tell you, I cannot wait!
Vietnam, Melbourne, San Francisco, Rio, the Cook Islands, the Perhentian Islands and the English south coast
