I am a 60+ woman about to retire from the workplace. Travel is one of my great loves and I am torn between travelling and spending more time with my grandchildren who live less than 2 hours drive from where I live in Far North Queensland. I like to travel inexpensively (but as a light sleeper I avoid dorm rooms unless good reason to stay in one) and as I get older I like to spend a little bit more time at each destination rather than rushing to too many places. However, I still want to see it all!
I feel like a Jill of all trades but an expert at none, so been to lots of places but not an expert on any. Living in Australia is quite isolating so I don't have one fav place to keep going back to, however happy to help with questions on Australa and Qld in particular.
Very hard to decide. I loved Vietnam, Turkey, Japan, Scotland, Ethiopia as well as the great European cities. Lake Bled in Slovenia was one of the prettiest places I have visited and at a magical time of year - autumn. Where I love in Queensland is gorgeous too but hard to take in summer.
