Carolina A. Miranda is a freelance travel and cultural writer based in New York City. Among her most recent assignments for Lonely Planet, she has covered Costa Rica and her father's birthplace of Peru. In addition, she regularly contributes to a variety of national and regional media in the United States, including Budget Travel, Travel + Leisure, Florida Travel + Life, Time Magazine and ARTnews magazine. She is a regular contributor to public radio.
As part of her work, she has interviewed Al Gore about his global warming documentary, surfed baby waves in Costa Rica, documented the presence of street art in mainstream arts institutions, covered the Asian influences of architectural pedagogy in Southern California and devoured the burgeoning food scene of Lima, Peru.
In 2008, she was named one of eight fellows in the USC Annenberg/Getty Arts Journalism Program for her arts blog C-Monster.net, which has been cited in the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times.
