Nearing 60 when I first left North America, now approaching mid 70s. Family obligations put my wanderlust on a backburner too long. Have visited Great Britain, Ecuador, France, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Australia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland in 14 years. I travel alone, not by choice, but of necessity. Am reluctant to have another set my pace. I've made sincere friends along the way, both in person and Email chums, several with whom I frequently correspond. My casual reading, international awareness, and knowledge of histories of my heritage have grown significantly. This forum has increased my global awareness. Sounds trite but is true. More than 20 people met in my travels have accepted my hospitality in Alta California since my travels began.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY:
If you want to make peace, you don't talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies. -Moshe Dayan, military leader and politician (1915-1981)
