Our aim in joining this forum is to facilitate our desire to travel the world and to put the shoe on the other foot - and to be a TOURIST!
Our passion is wildlife - big, small and even micro - anything that is out there. Birding is also top of the list and I am a very keen amateur photographer, while my wife just loves nature and being out in nature. My wife and I were married out in the bush at a waterhole in Savuti, Chobe National Park, Botswana, with wild elephants to witness the act.
I have worked as a professional Photographic Wildlife guide for the past 27 years. Starting out in Kenya then Tanzania before moving back to Zimbabwe where i gained my full Zimbabwe Professional Guides Licence and River Guide Licence. After a few years running canoeing and walking safaris I moved to Botswana and managed Lloyds Camp in Savuti, Chobe National Park, before starting my own Safari company Gavin Blair Safaris (GBS) in 1991 to offer personalised tailor made photographic safaris in Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The company consists of myself and my wife, and we specialise in small private safaris which I personally guide. We have our own vehicles and a commercially operated Cessna 206 aircraft. i am the holder of a commercial pilots licence as well as a Botswana professional guide licence and am a registered guide in Namibia. Photography, Birding and anything wildlife orientated is our speciality.
