As for who I am - relatively quiet, easy-going single straight male, 60, who prefers smaller group travelling (2-4) to larger groups. Non-smoker, social drinker and, if into Myers Briggs, INFP. Whilst I am open to travelling companionship and/or easygoing but non-intrusive friendship, I am not seeking a relationship (neither short-term nor long-term) - I am quite content with who I am(!) -a singleton who enjoys friendship and companionship.
I am reasonably well travelled (short & long haul) preferring to travel light. This has included China (superb), Laos & Cambodia (likewise superb), Gambia, Goa, Thailand, Maldives, Venezuela, Seychelles, Mexico and Mauritius etc etc, as well as various European destinations - leaving me many great places still to go. I am genuinely open to listen to suggestions. Some of the best holidays were because a potential companion wanted to go there, and was looking for someone to travel with.
I know some have a preference for travelling & sight seeing, whilst others have a preference for "sea sand & sun". I'm happy with either (or each for different parts of the same holiday), only asking that a beach holiday is either in stunningly beautiful surroundings or off the beaten track (and preferably both!)
I normally travel a couple of times a year, each approx two weeks (with various additional weekends). Relaxed about staying together all the time, or each having time 'doing our own thing'. I prefer to try the local food, culture etc, & quite relaxed about 'going with the flow' when plans need to change (or it is sensible that they do) rather than sticking with the plan. When travelling (as opposed to a beach holiday) I have a particular interest in older cultures and ruins - but genuinely open to experience those things that my companion(s) suggests. Some of my best holiday experiences have been from that mixture of going with the flow and mutual respect for each other's preferences. Superb times, may there be many, many, more
Too many to name.
